54400 Series Gas Mask and Model 40NBC Canister
The 54400 Series Gas Mask and Model 40NBC Canister
is designed to protect early responders in non-IDLH atmospheres containing
chemical agents, biological agents, and radioactive dust. Intended
end users include Fire Fighters and Police Officers, Emergency Medical
Service Personnel, Hazmat and other Emergency Response Teams.
The 54400 Series has a 40mm threaded connector that
accepts USA/Military, EN and NATO type thread canisters, and meets the
permeation requirements for US Military masks. The North Model 40NBC
is a gas mask canister that meets the performance requirements of NATO and
US Military specifications as a Chemical Biological Canister (US Army
C2A1).

(54400 Series Gas Mask):
- 40mm threaded connector accepts
USA/Military, EN and NATO type thread canisters, such as the Model
40NBC.
- Facepiece seal has been tested for
permeation of Sarin (GB) and Sulfur Mustard (HD) per test method
EA-DLT-1879, 5 November 1996, and meets the requirements for US
Military masks.
- Lightweight design offers a level of
comfort that will reduce worker fatigue and ensure user
acceptance.
- Oral nasal cup reduces lens fogging and
improves user comfort by limiting re-breathing of exhaled air.
- Hard-coated polycarbonate lens provides
excellent optics, over 200o field of vision, is scratch
resistant and meets ANSI standards for impact and penetration
resistance.
- Belt mounted carry bag is included to keep
the mask within easy reach for donning and storage.
- Available in two overlapping sizes to
comfortably fit most adults.

- Meets the performance requirements of NATO
and US Military specifications as a Chemical, Biological Canister
(US Army C2A1).
- 40mm thread allows it to be used with all
US and NATO Military gas masks including the 54400 Series.
- Canister has an eight-year shelf life.
The expiration date is printed on the bottom surface of each
canister.
Certification: At the present time there is no NIOSH
certification available for respirators or gas masks for protection
against non-industrial chemical or biological agents.
